Greetings!
The Striped Bass action this year has been much better than last season. So far we have caught close to 100 Stripers and less than 20 bluefish. We can not guarantee the fishing will be this hot through out the spring migration, but we are happy to say all the fish look healthy and could provide for a great spring and fall.

Our First charter of the season, the Miller&Chitty group. Ken and his crew always try to be on the opening trip of the CAPT DAVE. First stop Roamer Shoals, a slow pick of Bass until a wind against tide condition made it uncomfortable to fish. A ride to the Back Bay area to calmer waters produced a steady pick of Bass for the rest of the day. As I always say, “The women always out fish the men” , Allie took the pool with the largest striper. Thanks Ken, always a pleasure to fish with your crew.

Next up, a charter put together by David Patasznik of Vernon, for the gang at Bloomingdale DPW. A run to the Back Bay area and the first stop produced a slow pick of bass. Another stop more to the East by the 19&20 buoy and a slow pick again. When the tide changed, a run up to the Knoll was next. After anchoring, it was clear that the conditions were better to catch fish. Within 5 minutes of chumming, the bass were heavy in our slick and hungry. There was hot action until the end of the charter. The pool winner was a Striper by Brendan Duffy, congratulations Brendan you have bragging rights until your next trip! Nice group of guys, they are welcome aboard the CAPT DAVE any time.

The Ray Morasse party of Newark. A fresh load of clams and off to the Knoll where we left the fish biting a few hours before. Anchoring up in the same spot and chumming heavy, the fish all of a sudden had lock jaw and only one bluefish was caught in over an hour. Checking my log book, and a move to the south east, the conditions were much better. As soon as we got the lines in the water, they were tight with fish. There was hot action for the rest of the afternoon. Matt Panlak Hackensack was the pool winner on this charter with another fine Striper!
