Flounder fishing was generally slow this weekend, we had 7 fish on Saturday and 3 fish on Sunday. Tried MANY different drops throughout the river, just 1 (the path) really produced any BITES. I’m thinking this weekend I might backtrack and try the bay a bit, as there may be more fish back in there. I did hear one headboat did well in the afternoons back there bagging a few dozen flounders, esp. yesterday afternoon and sunday afternoon.
The fluke till ya puke trips that I’ve posted are already filling up, which is fantastic. Of course, there will be more posted as the summer progresses, as well as regular 6 hour open boat trips for more local fluke. And of course, if on a whim I decide to do a river trip or two when the good size fish move in, I’ll get a couple of those together where we bring the light spinning rods, and soft plastics and hopefully do a number on the flatties like we’ve done in the past.
I still also have a few date available for bass in the early to mid spring. Most likely we’ll start out jigging the fish, then we’ll switch over to livelining bunker once they arrive. I might even throw in a clamming trip or two if that fishery is productive!
Hope all is well with everyone!
