Hello from the crew of the CAPT. DAVE,

Had a great day fishing aboard the CAPT. DAVE and would like to share it with others? If you would like to see your name and your group’s photo in your favorite newspaper or magazine (Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Home News, The Fisherman, etc.) just forward this e-mail to them and say that you are a subscriber and would like to see it in print! These publications are always looking for articles, and with any luck you will be in their next edition! Also, feel free to post this message in your favorite chat room or online message board.
We were looking for a change in the weather pattern, and boy did it change! From 60 degrees to90-plus in one day! Bluefishing was very good this week and with the warmer air increasing the water temps to 60-degrees-plus, the fluke also started to bite.
June 5th: The Excelsior Lumber party, headed by John Perry from Butler. Cruising out towards the Knoll, we spotted a large area of working birds in mussel bed area. After stetting up a chum slick, the blues began attacking our baits. The fishing and catching was very good for this party. Paul Mele from Build It Up, Inc., of Vernon took the pool. Nice going Paul. A fun crowd, we hope to see this party again.
June 6th: The Greg Polanski party. We ran out to the same area as the day before, but this time it was a different story. Several stops on usually productive areas resulted in skates, and fishing was tough. Running a bit more to the north, we found some working birds and set up a chum slick, and we were able to get a pick of blues. A switch to fluke resulted in a pick of fish. Dan Brown was able to take the pool with a nice blue. Congratulations Dan, you worked hard for that fish. All good fishermen, we’re looking forward to fishing with this group again. See you guys in a week or so.
June 7th AM: A repeat party out of PA., headed by Maryann Deutsch and Rich Santiago. We received a report of better fishing in the back-bay, so away we went. After setting up a chum slick, it was a slow pick of fish at first, but as more and more fish found our slick, the catching turned on. It was non-stop action for this party, one fish after the other. Ungerer from Bethlehem took the pool with a 10-pound fish. A good group, we always have a good time with this gang.
June 7th PM: A party headed by Mike Sapienza out of Cedar Grove. Capt Kevin took this party to the back-bay area, and on the way spotted some working birds and stopped on them but with no results. Heading to one of his favorite drops resulted in only a pick of fish. The highlight of the charter was a 24-inch fluke boated by Jamie. Nice catch Jamie, hope you enjoy it for dinner. Thanks fellows, always a pleasure.
June 8th: The Bradley Gardens Fire House: “first in, last out.” Our first all-day fluke charter. Several drifts on the beach resulted in good action. However, catching an 18-inch fluke proved a challenge. Running south and making drops on some deeper holes and southern beaches provided a good pick of fish all day long. Doug Zoknicky took the pool with a 20-inch fish. Nice going Doug! This party made a comment at the end of the day saying that although they fish on several other boats, the CAPT DAVE was the best charter boat operation they ever fished with. Thanks guys. We try harder, and when someone lauds us, we really appreciate it.
Thanks again for your generous gratuities, we’re always happy to be out on the water with you and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this season!
Best wishes,
Brett Chamberlain
