Hello from the crew of the CAPT. DAVE,

Had a great day fishing aboard the CAPT. DAVE and would like to share it with others? If you would like to see your name and your group’s photo in your favorite newspaper or magazine (Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Home News, The Fisherman, etc.) just forward this e-mail to them and say that you are a subscriber and would like to see it in print! These publications are always looking for articles, and with any luck you will be in their next edition! Also, feel free to post this message in your favorite chat room or online message board.
The weather pattern of strong west winds and tornado watches still plagued us this week. With wind against tide situations 50% of the time, tough fishing conditions were on tap. Still, some nice fish were boated. The weatherman promises us some better conditions this week.
May 30th: The Reckitt Beckiser party from Montvale, a repeat customer from last year. Our first stop on the knoll with a try for bass and blues produced poor results. This being a calmer weather day, we took a ride to the Scotland Grounds for a try for ling. Micki Miskiv from Saddle River took the pool with a really nice ling. As always, a woman has out fished the men! A nice group of fishermen and fisher women, you are welcome aboard any time.
May 30th PM: The boys from Fujetec Elevators from N.Y., also regulars aboard the CAPT DAVE. A try on the Knoll for bass and blues brought better results than the AM trip. Later, the crew decided to try for some fluke. A drift on the Belford flats did not produce, so we took a ride to the Bug Light area. A fast drift made for tough fishing conditions, and only a few shorts were boated. See you guys again on Friday the 13th, but remember to bring a four leaf clover, or a rabbit’s foot!
May 31st Canceled because of a poor weather forecast.
June 1st: The gang from Bridgewater Wholesalers. A try for bass and blues found us stopping on several clam beds and other fish holding areas on the Knoll, and this group had a decent pick offish. Joey Ruggini and Jeff Newborough took pool honors. Tim Sobietch, who books the charters, had an accident and was unable to make the trip. Hope you feel better, and wish you a speedy recovery.
June 1st PM: The Maruro Maneto group of New Milford. Led by Capt Kevin, we stopped on known fish producing areas on the Knoll, but following a slow pick, we anchored among a large area of working birds. A steady pick resulted, and the pool was taken by Mike Baron with a 7-pound bluefish.
Thanks again for your generous gratuities, we’re always happy to be out on the water with you and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this season!
Best wishes,
Brett Chamberlain
