Hello from the crew of the CAPT. DAVE,

Had a great day fishing aboard the CAPT. DAVE and would like to share it with others? If you would like to see your name and your group’s photo in your favorite newspaper or magazine (Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Home News, The Fisherman, etc.) just forward this e-mail to them and say that you are a subscriber and would like to see it in print! These publications are always looking for articles, and with any luck you will be in their next edition! Also, feel free to post this message in your favorite chat room or online message board.
Strong NW winds to 30-knots-plus plagued us for a good part of the week. This made fishing difficult as a wind against tide situation prevailed, and at some times the 30-knot winds made the day uncomfortable and somewhat questionable.
May 22nd: The Wachovia Securities party from Bedminster, headed by Richard Policastro. This group uses the CAPT DAVE several times a year. The day started off with strong NW winds, and the weather went down hill from there. One rain squall after the next made for poor fishing conditions. Only a slow pick of fish and an uncomfortable day. Rich, we hope your crew and Mother Nature will give us another chance. You’re welcome aboard always.
May 24th AM: The Andy Waksmundzki party from Jackson. It was another day of poor weather and fishing conditions. A ride to the Back Bay looking for more favorable conditions did not produce fish. Several more stops, and alas, the fish gods were not with us. As it was opening day for fluke, we made a switch in tactics which resulted in a pick of short flatties. A nice group of guys,we hope to see you again.
May 24th PM: The Kevin Stig party from Hillsboro. Again, a strong NW wind for the Stig’s and Capt Kevin. Capt Kevin was, however, able to produce a pick of blues for the group and a 20-inch fluke. John Stig was the lucky angler on this charter with a nice sized blue. Congratulations John on your catch. I definitely enjoyed fishing with these fun loving guys.
May 25th: The Lohse party from Phoenixville Pa. It was the first time for this group on the CAPT DAVE. At last, a change in the weather pattern and the day was fishable. Several drops produce a good pick of nice sized bluefish for this charter. But, glory went to Johanna for her 6-pound black sea bass! This fish was the largest sea bass to ever come over the rail on the CAPT DAVE! Nice going Jo, Dave always says that the women out fish the men! A great group, they’re all good fishermen, and they’re welcome aboard any time.
Thanks again for your generous gratuities, we’re always happy to be out on the water with you and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this season!
Best wishes,
Brett Chamberlain
