Had a great day fishing aboard the CAPT. DAVE and would like to share it with others? If you would like to see your name and your group’s photo in your favorite newspaper or magazine (Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Home News, The Fisherman, etc.) just forward this e-mail to them and say that you are a subscriber and would like to see it in print! These publications are always looking for articles, and with any luck you will be in their next edition! Also, feel free to post this message in your favorite chat room or online message board.
This week we were plagued by poor weather conditions. NE winds, rough seas and heavy rain comprised a weather pattern which is usually over by this time of the year. Despite these challenges, every charter caught bluefish, and as the week progressed, keeper striper’s began coming over the rail!
May 8th: The Insurance Restoration Specialist Co. from East Brunswick, headed by Tim Jaiemo. A cloudy and overcast start to the day and we ran to the back bay. Our fist stop on Round Shoal produced no fish. Our next stop, a little further south produced a bite of blues. This group, though, wanted a try for bass, so we proceeded to scour the bay making six more drops, but despite our best efforts, we were not able to score this group a bass. These guys were all serious fisherman and are welcome aboard Dave’s vessel any time. Nice try guys.
May 9th: Canceled due to weather.
May 10th AM: The F D Financial Party from Fort Lee headed by Jay Pak. Despite the weatherman‘s forecast of a doom and gloom day, this group decided to give it a try, and they were rewarded with not only great weather, but also some excellent fishing. Our first stop on the NY side of the bay produced a pick of blues. The next drop was on the Knoll - which was red-hot. Blues and bass came over the rail with hookups two or three at time. The pool winner of this charter was Christian Jeon of Ramapo. Nice fish Chris! A fun crowd, we enjoyed fishing with them.
May 10th PM: Jay Melnick from Hoboken. Jay treated his good friend Alex Brown from Hackettstown to a fishing bachelor party. Captain Kevin took this group to where Dave left off in the morning. Finding only a pick of fish, he took this party to one of his hot spots. Bass and blues came over the rail at a fast pace, and this party had a box full of fish in no time. Les Melnick took the pool on this trip with a 36” bass. Nice fish Les, you have bragging rites ‘till your next charter. Alex, congratulations on your catch too!
Thanks again for your generous gratuities, we’re always happy to be out on the water with you and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this season!
Best wishes,
Brett Chamberlain
