45 Knot winds !! Yesterday, today, tonight!! I guess we won’t be fishing again till Monday. But, the eeling for striped bass turned on right before the storm. On Wednesday, we had out the Tony Formica party. We first went down the beach looking for birds and found plenty. All you wanted Bluefish. Mainly around 5-7 lbs. We could not find any stripers under the birds the whole length of the beach. So we decided to go eeling in the channels. The whole charter never caught a striped bass before, but before we were done for the day, they all landed their first keepers and others!!! Most of the bass eeled were around 32″ and we even had 2 short bass take the eels and they were just under legal size. The largest fish of the day was the last striper caught and it went 38″ and 20 lbs. !! Needless to say, the whole charter was happy as the pictures show below. ALL SMILES !! As soon as this Gale stops, I expect the striper fishing to get even better. Water temp. was in the mid 50’s. Getting to be prime. Get in on some of the best fishing of the season.
