Hello to all my friends and fellow fishermen out there. The fluke fishing continues to hold up and be very good. Sunday we had out the crew from Driftwood Bar and Liquors. Matt, Bo, Ed, and Arty. We fished the deep channels on both sides of the bay and had good action with keepers in both channels. We were fishing at times between 60′ and 70′ down. And we were able to hold bottom with 6 to 8 ounces of lead. 10 keepers were kept up to a high of 21″. A lot of the shorts are getting larger as most of the fish we threw back were just under the limit by a 1/4″ to an 1/ 8″. The fluke season ends early in September, so if you want to get in on some of the best fluke fishing of the season, you had better make it soon. Spool up your reel with 30 lb. braided line and you will easily hold bottom, most likely with less weight.
