The summer is heating up on the fishing front! 12 lb. bluefish, bonito, false albacore, ling, and a 3′ needlefish or gar fish were landed yesterday by the Boe Souza charter. Also on board was Bluefish Bob. The big blues are being chummed up at the Mud Buoy with plenty of action. The water temp. out there was 76.4 degrees and warmer in spots! The bonito and falsies are a little further offshore, but hopefully they will move in closer soon. The action was hot with double headers and drags singing. Ling were on the bottom in deep water and were up to 15″. Time to get out there.
Fluke fishing has defenately heated up as it seems they are grouping up to move out. This is deep water fluking and larger fluke are being landed. Fluke season ends Sept. 4. Still waiting to see if the weakfishing improves. Last season it started toward the end of August.
Dates to charter are this Thursday and Friday, Aug. 20, 21. Pick a day next week and I am sure you will get it.
Below you will find a shot of Boe and Bob with some of the Bonito landed yesterday. THANKYOU.
