Open Boat Ran today with only three guys had one no-show. Dave, Mike and Scott. This was a great group to run with. The laughs started early in the am with the gnats getting us at the dock and Dave putting bug spray on at 7am. Made our way out and to the Great Bay area and once there saw that it was not going to be very crowded. Started out first drift and had short fluke right away. We had five shorts before the first keeper came up. Then we had five more shorts and anther keeper. It looks like it is going to be a 5 to 1 ratio. It was true another five and the another keeper. The wind started to blow and we headed to the barn with close to 20 shorts and three keepers. 18, 18.5 & 19. We laughed all day a a friend of ours fishing close to us but not catching anything (JR). Well the best part of the day was at the dock when a bet came up. Scott bet Mike that he would not eat a fluke eye. So I cut the eyes out of one fluke and Mike ate it without a blinding and eye. Then Mike said to Scott if you want to make your money back the eat and eye and Scott had to think about it and then the eye went into Scott’s mouth. This two guys want to eat the heart of the fluke also and would have done it if I had cut it out. Later to find out that Scott had bought a boat and now they have a name for it “Fish Eye”. Guys thanks for the memories and hope to see you guys again.
