Hello from the crew of the CAPT. DAVE,
Be sure to stop-by our website at http://www.CAPTDAVE.net
Big blues have dominated catches for this week. Some small bass and spotty catches of keeper linesiders have been reported, but not enough to justify charters. With the cooler weather, we expect the bass to turn on very shortly. If stripers are your interest, now would be the time to book as we will be scheduling bass trips through November.
Oct 8th: The Aldolfo Carron and Kevin Stevens party from the Bronx. This group got a late start because of an airport snafu, but with the great weather, and armed with cut bunker and chum, off to the bluefish grounds we went. We had good action most of the day with blues in the 10-pound range being boated. The actively feeding tackle-busters brought some big smiles to the faces of the ladies on the trip, but little T.J. took the pool with a fish in the 12-pound range. Nice catch T.J.! It was a pleasure to fish with these two families.
Oct 13th: The TRC Environmental party from Milburn, headed by Mike Speck. This was a larger party than expected, but it was a nice group of fisherman and so off to the bluefish grounds we went. Cut bunker and chum were the baits of choice for this day. It was not red-hot fishing, but a pick of nice sized fish were boated. Trish Ward from New Providence was able to take the pool-fish away from the men on this charter. A nice gang, they’re welcome aboard the CAPT DAVE any time.
Oct13th PM: From Middletown, it was the Tom Albertezli bachelor party. Capt Kevin took this party on a bluefish mission, and we got into some good action right away. Tommy A. took the pool with a 12-plus-ponder. Congratulations Tom, that’s two keepers that did not get away!
Oct 14th: The Custom Home remodeling crew and family from Bartonsville, Pa. Another repeat customer for the CAPT DAVE. These guys had Gill and I in stitches all day with their great jokes. There was nary a dull moment all day as every hookup brought cheers and laughs. We put this gang onto a steady pick of bluefish for most of the day. There was a tie for the pool on this charter between Robert Hess and Josh Naples, both 12 years old. Nice going fellows, some of the fish were almost as big as they were! A fun crowd, and all good fishermen, we’ll see you again soon!
Oct 14th PM: The Gutowski Party from Toms River. This party wanted to try for some bluefish action, so Capt Kevin took the crowd to our reliable grounds. Tough it was a bit rough, this group handled it well, and the result was a nice pick of choppers to Bobby Olsen’s pool winner of 10-pounds. A great group of people who were mostly new to fishing, they impressed me with their enthusiasm and passion for being on the water.
Thanks again for your generous gratuities, we’re always happy to be out on the water with you and we’re looking forward to seeing you all this season!
Best wishes,
Brett Chamberlain
